OFSTED report
Dear Parents and Carers,
OFSTED review
Swallowfield Lower School Ofsted report
Please find attached a report outlining the outcomes of the OFSTED review that took place on 13th September.
We are pleased to report that Swallowfield and Busy Bees have retained a ‘Good’ OFSTED classification.
Under the new and more stringent OFSTED assessment framework this is a very positive outcome for the school. As you’ll see in the Inspectors report there are some extremely pleasing comments, not least on the quality of the teaching, children’s progress, the relationship between teachers and the children, and importantly how happy and safe the children feel at Swallowfield and Busy Bees. These are the priority areas that we strive to excel in, and we are immensely proud that the OFSTED Inspector picked these up as areas worth celebrating.
The governing body and senior management team have already started to put in place action plans to address some of the identified areas for improvement. The 2016/17 school development plan, which was only in draft given the timing of the inspection is nearly ready for approval, and a short term policy review sub group has been set up to ensure all of our policies are current and reflect the recently released best practice guidelines.
We’d like to thank those of you that completed the OFSTED Parentview survey in the run up to the inspection. We do use the information from Parentview to help identify priorities for ongoing improvement so please do continue to use this so we can keep a track of how we’re doing from your perspective.
If you have any questions or concerns relating to the visit, or comments in the Inspectors letter please do not hesitate to contact either of us via the school.
