Reading Meeting
Thank you for attending the meeting this morning. For those of you that were unable to attend, please find attached the powerpoint and handouts. The main headlines from our discussions were:
- The children spend a considerable amount of time during the school day learning ‘how’ to read.
- The children are continually assessed by their teachers.
- Reading at home should be a pleasurable experience.
- If you have any specific concerns about your child please speak to your child’s class teacher
If you have any further questions please contact the office to make an appointment.

Macmillan Coffee and Cakes
Well done Swallowfield we raised an amazing £245 for Macmillan today! Thank you to all the children who worked incredibly hard this week planning, baking and serving cakes. Thank you to our PTFA for donating and making tea and coffee. Thank you to all of the Year 4 team who worked incredibly hard supporting the children and finally thank you to all of our families for supporting such a fantastic charity. You are all amazing!
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Year 4 are really excited about the Macmillan Coffee Morning this Friday 9am in the school hall. We have been busy baking this week and we hope that lots of you will be able to come. If you have been busy baking this week too, please bring any cakes to the office on Thursday or straight to the hall on Friday morning. Remember to send 20p if the children would like to buy a cake in the afternoon.
