The Great British Spring Clean
Following on from last year’s ‘Clean For The Queen’ event where the children at Swallowfield filled many sacks full of litter around the school and local areas, we will be doing this again this year on Friday 3rd March. The children and adults at Swallowfield will be involved in ‘The Great British Spring Clean’ that is going on around the country. We will be taking our litter pickers, our refuse sacks and our gloves to pick up any litter we find around our school and in our local environment. Children in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 will be collecting litter around our school, while Year 3 and Year 4 will be walking to the park in Station Road and around the Parklands area.
Any help whilst walking to the park or around the Parklands area on Friday morning would be gratefully received.
Many thanks,
Mr McGill
Inter-House Maths Competition
A big thank you to the parents and carers that supported the ‘Inter-House Maths Competition’ on Friday 10th February. The children in Foundation completed Maths challenges and Years One to Four performed times tables challenges. All the children performed well and most importantly tried their best. With the money raised from the sponsorship we are supporting the children’s charity, NSPCC to raise money for their worthy cause.
The results of the challenge will be announced next week in school and those much-needed house points will be added together.
Thank you for your support.
Mr McGill
