Parent and Carer Talks-The World at Work
Thank you to all those parents and carers who were able to take part in our ‘World at Work’ talks last week. The children and staff thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learnt a great deal about life at work. We were lucky enough to have at least five talks per day and each adult visited two classes talking about a wide range of skills. We look forward to sharing this initiative again with you in the future.
Maths Meeting for Parents and Carers
On Monday 19th November we will be holding a parent meeting in the hall at 9am to show how we follow a mastery based curriculum in Maths.
In this meeting we will look at how we teach Maths at Swallowfield using our Calculation Policy and how you may be able to support your child at home. All parents and carers are welcome.
Please come along if you can.
Many thanks,
Mr G McGill
Parent and Carer Talks- The World at Work
29th October-1st November
During the week of Monday 29th October after half term we would like to invite parents and carers into our school to share their experiences of work life. We would love these to include a variety of roles that are undertaken in our community, including the important role of being a stay at home parent/voluntary and unpaid work. We would encourage you to phone in or sign up at the office this week to come in on a day that is convenient to you to talk to the pupils in a range of classes. This would ideally be to the class which your child is in and also another class/year group in the school. This will last for 5-10 minutes where you would have the opportunity to explain your role to the children and have them ask you questions at the end. This exciting event will take place throughout the week and will last from 2:30-3:30pm each day, Monday to Thursday.
We would value all parents/carers contributions to these talks and would like to thank you in advance for your time.
