SCIENCE WEEK

Friday, March 15, 2019

This week has been Science Week at Swallowfield, and it has been another fabulous success. The theme of this year’s Science Week was Animals. Each year group has learned about amazing animal journeys, animal habitats and diets and about classifying animals. To finish the week, the Animal Experience company brought us some of their animal friends to meet…there were snakes, a tarantula, a chameleon, a blue-tongued skink, a large millipede and the stars of the show: Ronnie the Owl and KitKat the Meerkat!  The children very much enjoyed their hands on experience with the animals. Photos are already up on some of the Year group pages, with more to follow early next week.

World Book Day Events

Sunday, March 10, 2019

It was great to see so many wonderful characters for World Book Day on Thursday 7th March.

A big thank you to our brilliant PTFA for providing the children with a wonderful experience to see a show in relation to the stores we read.

Children in Key Stage 2 watched a performance of ‘The Railway Children’.

Children in Key Stage 1 and Foundation watched a performance of ‘The Hare and the Tortoise’.

We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and loved taking about the shows throughout the day.
