Message to all Our Children

Friday, April 3, 2020

Over the past two weeks all of the teachers and other adults at school have really missed you. But we know you are safe and trying your very best at home. Keep working on the Home Learning Tasks but most importantly be kind and helpful to all of your family. We look forward to seeing all of you as soon as possible.

Keep smiling and stay safe!

From Mrs Brewer

Autism Awareness Week 30th March – 5th April

Monday, March 30, 2020

World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognised day taking place on 2 April every year. In the week surrounding this day, everyone is encouraged to take part in World Autism Awareness Week – where people across the UK take part in activities to raise awareness of Autism.

We’ve added some links from the National Autistic Society to copy to help you talk as a family about what this means, the idea of how we are the same, how we are different and how to be kind to one another. It also helps to explain the term ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) which is often used.

There are some resources you can share as part of your home teaching, including a mini assembly and activities associated with a special programme for younger children on Channel 5 on Thursday.

There are tips and helplines for those of different ages with Autism, about how to cope with the current times of great change. There are also a wide range of individual stories and experiences people have shared.

Wearing the colour blue on Thursday was due to be a sign of acknowledging this day, so why not celebrate this alongside our current show of thanks to people in the NHS.

Home Learning

Wednesday, March 18, 2020

In the event of school closure we have prepared a range of activities for all of the children. If the children are in school these activities will be sent home with a book and any necessary online resource logins. If your child is in school these will be sent home when required. If your children are unwell or your family is self-isolating, books are available for collection from the school office.

Copies of all of the activities can also be found on each Year Group page along with updates and additional resources.
